William Whitfield. 1851 census
« on: Friday 10 August 07 11:14 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could lookup William Whitfield for me on the 1851 census (or even the 1841 census). He was born in Marsden, Yorkshire in 1837/38 so would be 13/14 in 1851. His father was also called William and was a farmer. I don't have any details as yet about his mother.
Many thanks for any help.

I'm imagining that Thos's birthplace is more like Lancashire Stalybridge, just bad handwriting.

I realise that svb111 has posted the same family for the 1851 census as I have, but if the copyright moderator catches that and deletes the entry - straight copy and paste from the source - then you might be glad of the entry I've posted.

Thank you both MaryA and svb111  :). This is most definitely the family I was looking for. All my other family branches originally from Yorkshire seem to have also ended up in Lancashire by the 1890's.

Many thanks again !
