To start at the beginning....1841 Selby's Forest Northumberland
HO107/833/31/5 F4 p6
Charles Russell 50 Shepherd
Janet 50
Janet 17
John 13
Anne 7
next household
Robert 25 Shepherd
Charles 20      "    all born Scotland
Remeber ages were usually rounded down to the nearest 5 in 1841.
There is a Rutherford family a couple of houses on.

Have found Jesse in 1861 census visiting former employeer John Mowat.
She is still unmarried.  So if she wasnt a Rutherford who married a Russell, I
now have to work out relationship to Mary Rutherford if not grandmother.

Any sign of Ellen (I think born Sep Qtr 1850) and Mary Jane
in 1851 since they are not with mother Jane/Janet/jessie.  Found Robert with Grandma Jane in 1861 (though
shows his age as 10).
