MIs Marton Ormesby Eston
« on: Wednesday 01 August 07 21:57 BST (UK) »
This may be a long shot but I am trying to trace the grave of Sarah Jones. She could be buried in either Marton, Ormesby or Eston cemeteries and died in the late 1940s or early 1950s and was born in 1878. (She never married). I would be interested in any Sarah Joneses that would fit these details.
This may be too vague but I am hoping you can help, I have been searching for more details on this Great Great Aunt Sarah for several years.
Thank you so much.

Hi Amanda,

Don't know if this will help, but found four Sarah Jones deaths in Middlesbrough district 1939-1955, on the Tees Valley website www.middlesbrough-indexes.co.uk/search.php
none quite fit the birth year though.

GRO references are:

Sarah A  1939 Dec Qu Middlesbrough 9d 1163 aged 65 (b.1874)
Sarah     1946 Jun Qu          "              9d 523        "  57 (b.1889)
Sarah     1951 Jun Qu          "              1b 6998      "  64 (b.1887)
Sarah H  1955 Dec Qu          "             1b 727        "  72 (b.1883)

You can look up the Middlesbrough reference numbers on the above website, and the Middlesbrough register office might be able to tell you from these ref. numbers if the deaths are in the areas you mention

Thanks Mike, I shall wait with anticipation!
Sarah Jones lived in Stanley Grove Redcar and Lime Road Middlesbrough in her latter years. I believe she died in the late 1940s early 1950s (born 1878).

Good luck

There's no Sarah Jones in the Marton churchyard, now to find where Ive put the Ormesby ones !
The Eston cemetery is quite large and I've only got older grave records, have you tried Redcar and Cleveland council for any burial records, not sure of the address for that department.

Hi Mike
Yes I have tried Redcar archives, they have no Sarah Jones on record so I am hoping we can find her in Ormesby or Eston!
