Recently, when filling in an on-line form with my own details, I put 18.. instead of 19..  for my date of birth ;D
The site wouldn't accept it & it took me a few moments to work out why ;D ;D

I'm glad it's not just me.  My son had mislaid his birth certificate so I sent off for a copy.  Back came the envelope - containing a partial refund because there was no record of his birth.  What!!! I remember it very clearly. ;D

After reading the form again carefully, I realised I had given his date as 188* instead of 198*!  Cost me extra money to send for the right dated cert and several extra weeks wait for it.

What a brilliant thread! I thought I was the only person who dashed round madly at the  last minute trying to make it look like I had spent the day hoovering, or rushing up to the computer the moment my hubby goes out the door to play tennis ("no that's fine, dear, you go out and enjoy your hobby...I'll spend the evening on mine") or has  the ironing board permanently up in the same room as computer, so in between posting and looking for replies I can sneak in the odd shirt. ("What's that funny smell? Whoops, where did that last half hour go?")

I gave up pretending to have done housework years ago...  no one minds that much as long as there are clean ironed clothes to wear when needed and food to eat. ;D  I do run the Vac over the floor every other day.. only takes a few minutes... and makes a bit of a difference.

Mr Karenlee and the teenager can look after themselves pretty much... it's just the smallest one who has to be catered to these days...

Bron,

  Here you go....  a definition:-

"Necro-  from the Greek, Dealing with the dead"
"Necromancer- a Wizard who calls on the power of the dead".

In other words we like playing with our dead ancestors.

jc ;D ;D ;D

We are doing a great service in this time of conserving water, electricity, fuel for vehicles, etc.  when we save up our dirty dishes, ignore some household chores, and we stay at home.    ;D ;D

I am supposed to be sorcing leaf shaped table confetti for my wedding in just little over a month but instead I am totally engrossed on the IGI Family Search.  Praise be for families that where born, married and died in the same place for generations!

I'm in good company then! My collection of Family History stuff is threatening to take over the dining room!   When I'm onto a lead I'm really restless until I can get to the records office again,  my latest trip to London gave me a good lead, but I haven't any more time off this year to come!!!!!!! I'll have to wait until next year to continue that branch.

I too look for emails every day hoping to find some new branch of the family, spending so long replying to 'new family members' I don't get much research(or housework) done.   :)

I have a confession.  Ask me where a bill, statement or reciept is in this house (even for the wedding suits) I have no idea.  Ask me where someone birth, death or marriage certificate is I have them all safe in a folder stored in family and age order
