Anita,

If you put Richard Metcalf/Metcale b. 1799 into Family Search you should see what I mean.

As a matter of interest which source records didn't you see?

Pels

Someone went to the records office and extracted all of the Metcalfes from the register they held. I have a copy of the list they made. And of quite few other parishes besides

Anita
Metcalfe - Yorks, Edge - Shrops, Walster - Notts Cookson - Lancs

Hi Pels

Would be good to see the list.

I known that Richard Metcalf was born in Lancashire look like Richard  & his Parent's Christopher & Ann must have move there.

1841 Census look like they had 3 children born in Hetton le Hole
Ann 7, Mary 4 & Christopher 2 they born in Durham John age 10 born in Bolton Castle so look like only John came to Durham.

Could there be a possible that Richard & Ann had 2 Christopher one born 1829 Bolton Castle the other born in 1839 Easlington.
