Hi.

I had a look at the original register today at the archives, to see if the curate or clerk had made a mistake when submitting a copy to the GRO and it definately states "James Lindley Pilling" (deceased)

Had a look for a marriage that might fit for parents of James Lindley and discovered this in free BMD

Hi,
I have now sent for the birth cert of Thomas Edward pilling born 1903 ecclesall bierlow so that i can try and track down his parents-his father is down as James Lindley Pilling but couldn't find anything on him which meant i couldn't find Thomas's mother so thoguht cert was best idea, will let you know when cert arrives and details on it.

Hi Tracey

Thomas Edward Pilling father was Joseph Lindley Pilling(born in Dunkinfield Cheshire). His mother was Annie Maria Crookes Pilling (nee Redfearn), she was born in Sheffield. In the 1911 census they were living at 41 Buttermere Road, Sheffield. Annie lived in the Buttermere Road area until her death in 1952.
I have further information if about the family if you are interested.
