Wilkinson, Watson & Nicholas are not triplets.
ages were rounded down in the 1841 census, which is where the confusion arises.

Dorothy was born in 1838. her birth certificate will give mother's maiden/former names.

Could it be possible that there were in fact triplets?  I have triplet brothers so wondered if it was a genetic thing?

If you are referring to the possibility of Watson, Wilkinson and Nicholas being triplets, the answer is no.

Durham Records Online shows their baptisms in 1821, 1823 and 1826 respectively.

As Pauline J said, in the 1841 census ages were rounded down, so they are all shown as 15 years old.
