Wayman
« on: Monday 30 July 07 10:34 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find the children and the death date of Nicholas Wayman, b 18 Nov 1764 at Sunderland. He married a Mary Camsey on 16 Aug 1784; she died in 1811.
I believe one or two references show him as 'Weyman', but I'm pretty certain that it's the same bloke!

Thanks -

Frank

Hi Frank

There are 40 Baptisms and 26 Burials at www.durhamrecordsonline.com (pay per view) that may interest you.

Just enter w%yman, all parish records and Sunderland in the search boxes and you will find them.

Take this a step further and enter Nicholas as father's name further down the search page and there are 11 baptisms and 4 burials.

Dorothy Bap 1785   Bur 1785
Margaret Bap 1785  Bur 1785
Mary Bap 1786  Bur 1787
Watson Bap 1788
Ann Bap 1790  Bur 1791
Nicholas Bap 1792
John Bap 1795
Mary Bap 1798
Margaret Bap 1802
William Bap 1802
Dorothy Bap 1805

You can buy credits at this site to view a transcript of any/all of these entries.  As you are in Sunderland could you not call in to the Local Studies at the Library and view these Parish Records on film?

Hi There - I a, also trying to find a Nicholas Wayman b. abt 1791 - married to Ann  - b. abt 1796 (I am trying to find her surname)

They had a son Nicholas - abt 1826 and it looks as if he was a triplet along with Wilkinson and Watson.   Watson is my direct line.

Hope someone knows something about Nicholas and Ann.

Thxs, pauline

Wilkinson, Watson & Nicholas are not triplets.
ages were rounded down in the 1841 census, which is where the confusion arises.

Dorothy was born in 1838. her birth certificate will give mother's maiden/former names.

My great great grandfather was Wilkinson Wayman, son of Nicholas Wayman and Ann Wilkinson of Stockton on Tees. Wilkinson was born in 1823, migrated to Australia in 1854 and died in 1901 at Stawell, Victoria, Australia
