Papakura Cemetery

I'm looking for someone that can advise me of details on grave stone or other records of a Lillian Cleverly nee Westlake, died Aug 1977 and reported as being buried at Papakura cemetery. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I am searching also for graves . Have you looked at cemeteries on line for N. I have emailed the Papakura Council for information on their database for the Papakura cemetery as they don't have one online. The Papakura library has transcriptions and indexes - search Papakura Library but may need to go in or be a member.
Will let you know how I get on with the council

I believe that the Papakura Genealogy group have been collecting names on headstones from the cemetery.

If you contact the Papakura Council at  www.papakura.govt.nz  they maybe able to help. They have no online data base but seem helpful enough to do a lookup for you.

Hi,
I have just spent several hours in the Papakura Library. As I was about to leave I spotted the Papakura Genealogists volumes for the cemetery. they also have a map in the front showing the different church areas. I would be happy to pop back to the library and find the plot number, then over to the cemetery to see if there is a headstone. Perhaps tomorrow ! If you have any further information that might point me to the right area let me know.

That would be great if yopu could do that for me. All i know is Lillian Cleverly nee Westlake died 5 Aug 1977, wife of Herbert Royal Cleverly but he his buried at Hamilton Park Cemetery. I had a reply from Papakura Council and they said "unable to find anyone by either name" so i'm beginning to have doubts about her being buried at Papakura.

Sorry Lillian does not appear to be in Papakura. It is possible that she is in a cemetery in the general area, as there are outlying cemeteries that are not on line. Some councils are looking at doing this in the future but no date set in concrete. I have been checking out all that I could find north and south and found your Herbert in Hamilton 2nd Jan 1978 age 78 .
