"Where did you get that smiley ...?"

As I have been asked this before, I thought I would give a general reply:
I have so far found these sites:
http://www.spacespider.net/
http://fool.exler.ru/en/sm_all.htm
http://www.smiley-channel.de/
http://www.uselessgraphics.com/
http://www.clicksmilies.com/
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilies/index.php?wahl=sonstige&ziel=sonstige
http://rezepte.nit.at/gifs_smilies.html
Translation:
Animierte Gifs Smilies = animated ...
Freie animierte Gifs = FREE ....
kopieren - mit Rechtsklick und "Speichern unter..." = Copy, using right mouse click and "save as ..."
And if you enter "smiley" or "smilies" in Google you will get many more,
Most of these Smileys are free,
BUT, BE WARNED:
Many of these sites, especially some german ones, show you a selection (Auswahl) and then say you need to "enter" the site. To do this a "logon assistant" starts, and tells you to enter OK. In very small type you are told that that you have to load "special software", which usually means an expensive "Dialer" program, and that the call will cost (in one example 1.86
€
/min, could be much more). A normal call could cost maybe 1.86
cents
/min !!
This Dialer could also install itself as your "standard" Internet link !!
If you know any good, FREE, non.dangerous sites, please share them with us !

Bob "I can remember when" and look at you know
I know what you mean about being carefull. I have been on all the sites you mentioned plus many others, long before Rootschat was born. I had to disconnect from the web only the other night. Because as you say with some sites. YOU MUST PRESS YES TO ENTER, even when i was disconnected the page stayed on my screen and i had to shut down

Be VERY careful of smilie central. I got heaps of spyware from that particular site.
Smilies for what program? An im service or normal emails?

Yes, please be careful - I agree with you Sandie. In downloaded Smiley Central but I had so much trouble with my PC afterwards with spyware. Thankfully, everything is now OK.
Bob, thanks for the links. There was couple of sites there that I don't use so am going to have a look now
