Thanks for the info, but I am confused now if she was widowed/unmarried in in 1861 and a pauper with 3 children in 1851, she had two more children by 1861 still with the name Bailey can't get my head round it.

Marriages Mar 1865
Bailey Matilda Ann Fordingbridge 2b 749
Tiller James Frederick Fordingbridge 2b 749
This is Ann on the 1871 census wrongly given the surname Tiller
1871 census RG10 1182 folio 68
Back Street Fordingbridge Hampshire
James Tiller 27 Fordingbridge Hampshire Head Married Ag lab
Matilda Tiller 29 Fordingbridge Hampshire Head MarriedWife
Emma Tiller 5 Fordingbridge Hampshire Daughter
Sarah Tiller 4 Fordingbridge Hampshire Daughter
Annie Tiller 14 Fordingbridge Hampshire Sister-in-law Servant Domestic
plus 2 lodgers
a likely death registration for Ann's mother
Deaths Mar 1869
Bailey Mary 48 Fordingbridge 2b 397
Ann's birth certificate would confirm whether she was born illegitimate. The evidence from the censuses would indicate that she was.
A possible baptism for Mary's mother in Fordingbridge
9th October 1820
Mary Bailey
parent Ann
sibling
10th November 1815
James Bailey
parent Ann
birth registrations for Mary's children
Births Dec 1841
Bailey Matilda Ann Fordingbridge 8 161
either
Births Jun 1844
Bailey William Fordingbridge 8 164
or
Births Sep 1844
Bailey William Charles Fordingbridge 8 163
either
Births Mar 1849
BAILEY George Fordingbridge 8 193
or
Births Mar 1850
Bailey George James Fordingbridge 8 169
possible
Births Jun 1856
Bailey Ann Fordingbridge 2b 512 (check this reference carefully to be sure the figures are correct)
not sure about Emma's birth registration
