Where is this???
« on: Sunday 22 July 07 17:14 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone.
I need help finding these places.

Trimdene/trimdone and Fesham Bishopbeg. These are obviously misspellings but i don't know the area so can not guess where they are.

These are the places my grt, grt, grt grandfather put on the 1851/61 census.

Any help would be great.

Trimdon is a village just outside Sedgefield county Durham. if you give me thedetails from the 1861 census  may be able to identify the place.

Just thought it best to warn people this has also been posted on the North Yorkshire Board - I hope you don't mind Louise but it saves people duplicating information.

He lived in Whitby but his surname is spelt differently.
His marriage cert is spelt with the v and his death cert is with ph.

1861
Robert Stephenson born 1786 fesham bishopbeg

1851
Robert Stevenson born 1787 trmdene.

Thanks for that pels.

Hi again Louise,

Not a lot of help I'm afraid but someone might have an idea if
they can see tham written down:

1851 census:

1861 census:

I should still imagine the 1851 would refer to Trimdon as slaw has already said .. ..

Best wishes,

Pels

Hi

The 1851 is fairly easy, it's Trimden (Trimdon) but the other I'm still pondering  :-\

First word is Fishburn

Added - the only place near it with a Bishop is Bishop Middleham but there is a Stoneybeck Lane. So could it refer to Bishop beck  :-\
