It gets more and more complex Jane Canning wife of Richard SIMKINs had a brother John who married Martha  Barrett
Bengamin and Joseph Barrett were brothers both connected to Keziah MERCER

Martha was daughter of Thomas and Ann nee Addaway
Benjamin and Joseph were sons of John and Mary nee Andrews have you got their marriages please Sue I had them from an old( old in both meanings) acquaintance with not much detail and have yet to check it out
Were John and Thomas BARRETT brothers I wonder? So that is the rather loose conection between the Simkins ,Barretts and Mercers
Thanks for the burial must have been having a senior moment when I entred it  glad its sorted :)

Thanks for the Henry/Martha info it confirms what I had for their children but  Betty was baptised daughter of Francis
1775 Aug 20 CLAY Betty d Francis & Ann
there are several An..ry trees which have Francis son of Henry and Martha but I couldn't find him among their children  it is odd though If I remember correctly Henry and Martha were the only Clay  couple having children baptised at that time I wonder if they married out of county and I'll find Francis when I locate the maffiage non of the An..ry tree owners can say where they got the link from just each other's trees :P

Hi all,

I think I'll have to look at this tomorrow as its getting a little too complicated for this time of night in New Zealand haha

But I would like to add that I believe Richard and Robert NICHOLLS/NICKOLLS to be the sons of Thomas NICHOLLS/NICKOLLS and Elizabeth (Betty) WELLS. And Betty WELLS to be the daughter of Richard WELLS & Ann MARCH.

And Robert NICHOLLS/NICKOLLS's first wife Mary MERCER/MESSER to be the daughter of John MERCER/MESSER & Elizabeth (Betty) SMITH.

I have 22 pages of a NICHOLS descendency I received in 2001-2002 I received from a gentleman called Gordon Keith Hazell who never replied to my follow up emails. But I just see from a google search that Tree knows Gordon??

Ta Steve
