Hi has anyone got infomation on Jeremiah Topham ? I'm working from someone Else's research so i need to verify all the information as it has been quite sketchy in places.

It has Jeremiah being born 1800 in Derby, occupation as journeyman millwright
and bachelor of Littleaton Derby.
He married Elizabeth Sheward on the 5.11. 1826 st Alkmunds Derby.

It is ages since you posted your request so forgive me if you have changed your Roots name  and since clarified your info  ::)

Do you need census information or information about his birth and ancestors?

I have found him in 1841 as follows:

Jeremiah Topham aged 40 Millwright Born within the county ? (Cant tell whether this is yes or no!)
Elizabeth  aged 35 Yes
Charles 11 No
Jane 10 Yes
Prudence 7 Yes
John 5 Yes
Ellen 3 Yes
Snowden (?) 7 months Yes
Also living with them William Sherwood (?) aged 15 Yes

All Civil Parish of Duffield; HO107/180; Folio: 43; Page: 3

Nothing on the IGI for a birth though

If you need further census lookups let us know

Jeremiah's marriage to Elizabeth Sheward, St Alkmund's Derby is shown as 1 Nov 1826 on IGI. Also on IGI are the christenings of the following children:

Sarah 20/5/1827 St Paul's Little Eaton
Charles 25/12/1829 Duffield
Jane 23/10/1831 Duffield
Prudence and John both 8 Oct 1837 Duffield
Ellen 17 Jun 1838 Duffield
Snowder 29 Nov 1840


The 1851 census has another child Jeremaih, born about 1843 Duffield

There is some more information on Elizabeth Sheward's christening if you are following her line

Born 24 Sep 1804, christened 27 Jan 1805, St Mary Cromford, Derbyshire, parents John Sheward & Mary.

Hi All... Looking to go back into family history, Jeremiah Topham born around 1800 married Elizabeth living in 89 Bridge st in Derbyshire on the 1851 census. Im looking to go back to his parents and furthur, i think Jeremiahs father was Snowden Topham but not sure, Can anyone help??? Kind regards
