Thanks to Wilton..much appreciate your efforts.

Anne- what cemetary/churchyard is that headstone in?  Thnx..... I saved it to my file.

John - my Ancestry subscription ran out....can only access my data now....can't view docs ...will be awhile before I can renew my Ancestry subscription.  Can we exchange info by email?  I can PM you my email addie if you like.   I believe the above Ann Eliza Shaw may be in my family line and trying to establish she is the right Eliza Boyd m. to James Shaw.  My g g grandmother was Helen Ann Young Boyd.  Do you have a lot of Boyd's in your data collection?  I have them back to the 1750s James Boyd m. Margaret Gilchrest.

Thanks again everyone.....MJ

The stone is in Kilsyth Churchyard.

Your previous post:

"I am looking for information on James Shaw b. 1819 d. 18 Dec 1884 (age 65) and his wife, Eliza Boyd b. 1821 d. 1889 (age 68).  Both are buried in the Kilsyth Old Churchyard (entry #408 - not sure if that is the lair # or not). "

Re:  James Shaw and Ann Eliza Boyd
408 Jas SHAW 18 Dec 1884 age 65, wife Eliza BOYD 1889 age 68
This is from:
Pre 1855 inscriptions Kilsyth Old Churchyard
These Inscriptions are believed to have been surveyed in May 1969 - source of work is uncertain at present.
Also:
Death Record -1889  Anna Liza Shaw, Widow of James Shaw Cotton Weaver
Died:  29 Jan 1889, UP Lane, Kilsyth, Age 68 yrs.
Parents:  Robert Boyd, Cotton Weaver & Ann Boyd MS Unknown
Cause:  Cancer of the Stomach, 2 years, Jane Jarvie, daughter, present
Also census record show Ann Boyd as born in Glasgow - but don't know any other info on her.  If any have, I would appreciate assistance you could render.
Cheers,John Shaw

Hi Shaweb,

Welcome to Rootschat!

In your above post, you said that you believed the source of the pre-1855 Mi's to be uncertain ......

I think it's almost certain that they came from 'West Stirlingshire Monumental Inscriptions pre 1888' by John Fowler Mitchell & Sheila Mitchell. They surveyed the Churchyard in May 1969 - too much of a co-incidence for it not to be the same source?

Anne

P.S. Anyone wishing to purchase the above book (or others in the series) should have a look here: http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/ - they cost in the region of £10/12.

Hi Donna
I'm a newbie but interested in the Mahan family from Ireland who moved to Oamaru I am sending a note here as the Mahan thread seems to be a couple of years old, wonder if you had found out more than on the Mahan thread.
