GOACHER FAMILY
« on: Saturday 21 July 07 08:08 BST (UK) »
I have traced one of my lines back to DANIEL GOACHER and MARY BARNARD who were married at Pullborough in 1751. HUGH GOACHER bapt. Amberley 1751,  married SARAH WITTON at Steyning in 1779.
Is anyone connected to these families? I am in Australia.

Regards
Lorayne

I have a Jane Goacher bp 1737, Wisborough Green, daughter of Hugh Gocher.  She died in 1800 and married John Lickfold but I haven't investigated further as it is the Lickfold family I am particularly interested in.  Jane and John had 8 children.

Looks as if your Hugh may have been a brother or nephew?

Thank you for your reply. I have only got back so far to Hugh Goacher bp 1751 whose parents were Daniel Goacher and Mary Bernard. That is very interesting about Jane, My Hugh was not her father, but there could be a connection there, given the name. Hugh is not all that common in this family. They are all over the place!!!!!!

Dear Robert
Thanks for that. George died by1841, as in that census Catherine is listed as a widow.
If you want any more details on this family, I will give you what I have, although it is not all that much.
