Thank you so much, I found the Hotel in Historical Directories, it's called the Royal and is still there. I feel half convinced that the William in the hotel is the same William recorded in both places, I have other examples of people being on the census twice. But that I will never know unless I find a descendant who knows the story I suppose.
This is all very exciting for me as it's all so new, also being born and bred in Wales myself I consider myself a Celt through and through but many of my ancestors have turned out to be English so these Russells and Thomases are coming up trumps so far.
