According to the 1891 Census she was born in Sunderland, 1861. In the 1871 Census, the only Hannah Wilson born in Sunderland in 1861 had a father George and a Mother Hannah, living in Witton le Wear.
John Blenkin Wilson died in the March¼ 1861. His wife Hannah is shown as a widow in the 1861 census, and daughter Hannah aged one, birth registered in Sunderland the March ¼ 1860, 10a 415.

Hi Allan,

How about this as a possible?

June Quarter 1859
Hannah WILSON
Houghton le Spring 10a 363

Houghton is less than 5 miles from Sunderland.

If this is your Hannah then she was probably a year older than her husband (i.e. 22 when she married rather than 21) which may have motivated her to adjust her age!

A little further away from Sunderland, there's  an IGI record:

Hannah WILSON
Birth: 29 Jan 1859
Christening: 02 Mar 1859 St Hildas, South Shields, Durham

Father: Robert WILSON
Mother: Hannah

Thee batch number is C011590 which I think means that is this is an extracted record.

What do you think?

Regards,

Al

On the 1861, there is a Hannah, aged 2,  who would fit in with Al's Houghton le Spring registration:

RG9/3757 Folio 72 page 23, Nags head, West Rainton, Houghton le Spring RD

Father Robert , mother Sarah and 2 elder sisters

I can give you the full census info if required

From http://www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html
The IGI falls into two very distinct parts.....
1) What is called the "controlled extraction" program from parish registers and BTs.
2) Private, or patron, submissions from church members.
The vital thing to remember when using the IGI is that entries which are from the controlled extraction program can generally be regarded as accurate, whilst private patron submissions are to be treated with extreme caution!
