Glad to meet you! Suley is such an uncommon name.
David Suley was the 5th of several children (I have 7 names) of Jonathan & Rebecca Suley nee Slater who were married at Long Sutton in 1815. All seven children were born there, altho there may be more.
David's dau Eliza married her 1st cousin Edward (son of David's brother William).  They were my great grandparents so I have a double interest in this family.
I would be glad to know where your gt gmother Rebecca was born/bapt as I have not found the entry altho I suspect Holbeach St John may be the place as Mary Courts seems to be from there.
Suley; Tyrrell & Dunkley Northants; Edmondson Hull & Bradford, Yorkshire; Bendelow.

Trying to build a family tree for the Clifton's. I have a John Watts Clifton born 1828 who married Elizabeth Mastin They had a son also called John Watts Clifton who married Ethel Mary Dickerson. Their son Ashley Suley Clifton was born in 1904 and he married Eva Maycock Bowers. Most of these folk originated from the Gedney, Long Sutton, Holbeach area. Any assistance would bew very much appreciated.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am searching for living relatives of my Grandmother, Kathleen Minnie Clifton.  Daughter of Harry & Martha Clifton (Horsewood).  Kathleen had my mother, Carol Ann Clifton, on March 26, 1941 in London.  There my mother was put up for adoption.  For years we thought my mother was an orphan due to the Blitz in London of May 10, 1941.  Where my grandmother Kathleen Clifton  had worked as an Engineering Tracer.  I have my mothers and Kathleen’s birth certificates.

My mother recently passed away.  She had some unusual health issues that could be genetic.  She had a bought with breast cancer last year and beat it.  He death has our doctors baffled, some type of muscle atrophy and she also had a real rare tumor on her adrenal gland, which cause a stroke in 2007.  So I am curious about family health information.

Recently, I took my mothers birth certificate and found that Kathleen married Frederick Walker in 1951 and passed away in Lincoln in 1976.  I would like to know why she died at age 66.  I would love to see a photograph of her and her family.  I’d like to know what my great aunts were like.  Do we have any cousins on my mom’s side?

You would have loved my mother.  She was good, caring, loved animals and gardens.    Her adopted name was Elizabeth Ann Scott and she grew up in Oxford. She married an American Service man and had two children in Swindon.  She came to “The States” in 1960 and had three more children and 12 grand children.  So Kathleen really has a legacy she doesn‘t even know about.

I am not sure if the house on 29 Hood St. stayed in the family, or if the one of the four “Clifton girls” stayed in Lincoln.  But if you know something, or someone who could help me, please contact me at the above address or contact me.  I would greatly appreciate it.  I’ll be checking the local newspaper for an obituary on Kathleen.  Maybe I can find out  more that way as well.

Many blessings,

Debbie Clemmons
