Is anyone researching this line? Ellen Hewitt was born 1833/4. Place of birth is stated on different censuses to be Baguley, Timperley & Broadheath. She married William Royle at Bowdon on 28/02/1853. She died in 1908 and is buried at Bowdon. In the 1841 census Ellen is aged 7 and the head of household is Hannah Hulme aged 80. If this is Ellen's grandmother then her mother's maiden name was Hulme. On Ellens marriage certificate her father is James Hewitt, brickmaker.
James Hewitt married Sarah Hulme at Manchester Cathedral on 19/02/1834. Sarah Hulme later married William Heywood at Manchester Cathedral. I believe that a Sarah Hewitt aged 25 in the 1841 census is the daughter of James Hewitt from an earlier marriage.
Does anyone have any further information on Ellen and James Hewitt or Sarah Hulme, particularly details of their baptisms?
