Chieveley Post Office
« on: Monday 16 July 07 09:48 BST (UK) »
Hello,

My GG Grandparents used to run the Chieveley post office, and are shown there on the 1891 & 1901 Census.

Does anyone know if it is still there? I have 'googled' it and it mentions that they sell lots of provisions too now. I'm guessing that it is not the same building anymore, but if it is I would love to visit it.

Anyone know if it is still there? They are classed as 'Sub-Postmaster & Sub-Postmistress' so I don't know if this is a different one to the one that I found. It is listed on the census as being near Church Lane if this helps?

Thankyou for any help,

Best Wishes

The current Post Office and stores is at the end of Church Lane - it could easily be the same one as in 1901.
