In 1978 I bought a bag of motorcycle magazines at a car boot sale somewhere around London. Amongst the magazines was an old envelope containing two letters from a soldier awaiting action, to his Mum. The soldiers name appears to be Private J or T Finch, although he signs his letters "Herbert".
The letters were sent from Harwich in 1914, to "Mrs J or T Finch, Newbrickfield Cottages, Coopersale Common, near Epping, Essex".
I would like to pass these letters on to a family member, given some proof of relationship.
