Great Aunt Jessie CHURCH - Woolwich to Canada
« on: Sunday 15 July 07 19:04 BST (UK) »
My great aunt Jessie (born approx 1904) married Charles Harding (of West Ham) and went to Canada with her husband and daughter Vera (aged 8) arriving there in the 1920s. on ship Doric.

Her maiden name was Church and she had one sister (Annie) and a brother (John William - my grandad) who stayed behind.

I know that she had a further child (or Children) and would love to make contact with the family in Canada.
Been searching for donkey's years for a connection.

Susan.

From Canadian Immigration Records:
Charles R. Harding age 30, Jessie E. Harding age 27, Vera Harding age 8.
All English, arrived Quebec 1929/07/06 on 'Doric'

Sorry- name of ship Doric not Doris.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you both.
Jessie was born in Dartford, Kent in 1904 - married 1920 in England to Charles Harding.
Had Vera (first born) in England
then Emigrated with both to Quebec (as above).
Further children (at least one possibly named Peter or Jack). followed later after 1929 in Canada.
But, thank you for the help and just reading ...
Rgards to you both.
Susan.

When looking fo the living, we can only usually send you here, if information isn't online... http://findaperson.canada411.ca/
If you have some idea where they are located in Canada... although Harding is a popular name...
Best we can do for you, sorry...  Just having it posted may one day find you a contact, I guess... Good Luck  J.J.
