Many of Ralph/ Mary Trelfa descendants moved to Liverpool long before Daniel was born, some via Backford, some via Middlewich and via London.
As an example, you can see son, John's marriage to Ann Cumberland in Toxteth in 1785 and his death at Walton on the Hill in 1812 on Lancs Parish Clerk site. ( it says his parents are Ralph Oakes and Mary Trelford!).
Following all the descendants has involved a massive undertaking with a multi pronged approach using FindMyPast, Church Registers, Wills and Ancestry and could not be done without help from a co-worker.
Ralph's father was John and he is a product of his second marriage, the other children from his first marriage.
How much does a FTDNA cost? Looking at the site, it seems costly and your result not very informative.

Thanks JO ....mine cost 130 dollars with familytreedna - presumably USA based -
all I can say is that I think DNA sites are a rip off coming up to 8 years and I have so many - literally over two thousand matches off Familytreedna 12 / 25 / 37 /67 .......but still no 67 /67 full match ...and in all honesty - I don't expect to get one either ...my best suggestion to you is to visit
www.familytreedna.com and view their site
a waste of money in my eyes - but we are all different ...some people may find it worth the money - me - I find it overpriced and a little confusing
I have just checked my DNA test - completed 18th July 2007
51 matches for 67 marker - nearest is Genetic Distance 3 / furthest Genetic Distance 7
70 matches for 37 marker - nearest G D is 2 / furthest GD is 4
over 1000 matches for 25 marker - from 0 G D
over 1000 matches for 12 marker - from 0 G D
but these are more or less obsolete in 2015 because they are now saying NARROW DOWN YOUR MATCHES with a Y111 DNA marker ...for 129 dollars
