Thomas KITE information

I am looking for more information on Thomas Kite.  The 1841 census shows that he was married to Lucy "somebody" and had two children, Hannah (b abt 1836) and George (b abt 1840).  This family emigrated to New Zealand in November 1842.  So I am really tracing Lucy's maiden name and ancestors of Thomas and Lucy.

there is a thomas kite christened in claverdon warwickshire on the 14th october 1817 parents richard kite and mary kite. this is from the IGI and is a submitted entry (should be treated with scepticism)
although it is submitted i thought i would post it in case the parents names are familiar to you.

Either George or Lucy's birth certificate would give their mother's maiden name. if their births were registered, but if not any younger siblings births in New Zealand would give that information. New Zealand death certificates are very informative so they should give the parents' names of both Thomas and Lucy and therefore include Lucy's maiden name.

There are about 30 Kite baptisms in the Ettington parish register between 1813-1857 on the IGI. The IGI has no coverage of  Ettington baptisms 1701-1812. With so many Kites in Ettington the Ettington parish registers would obviously be the first place to search for a possible baptism for Thomas (adult ages on the 1841 census - those over the age of 15 were usually rounded down to the nearest 5, so Thomas' given age on the 1841 census of 25 could be anything from 25 to 29) - there are baptisms in the Ettington register after 1813 with parents Thomas and Mary Kite.

Ettington marriage registers are on the IGI 1813-1849. There is no marriage for a Thomas Kite, but then by tradition a marriage occurred in the bride's parish.

Have a Warwickshire marriage index (separate index for Birmingham) which you can request a search from and perhaps help pinpoint Lucy's parish of origin - (though where she was married might not be where she was born).

The New Zealand death certificates for the couple would confirm and further information found in parish registers in England.
