Hello. My maternal Grandmother was born in Hemsworth (Sarah Joyce) in 1906. Does anyone know which Registry office I would obtain her birth certificate from?! Very many thanks

Hi,

All I can come up on Genuki is that the registers for the area have now been divided between Wakefield, Barnsley, Pontefract etc   Perhaps if you e-mail Pontefract they may point you in the right direction:

pontefractregistrars at wakefield.gov.uk

Just substitute the `at` for an @ - this is to prevent spam. 

Alternatively you can order online using the Year -1906 -  June Qtr.  Volume number - 9C and Page Number - 194  from the GRO indexes from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

The cost is £7.00 in both cases.
