Look ups please Londonderry
« on: Tuesday 10 July 07 19:04 BST (UK) »
|HI

Could some kind sole put me out of my misery by looking up some Mundell’s for me I have been trying to find them for three years now with no success. And I know they definitely came from Londonderry
 Parents
William Mundell & Ann Mundell nee Wallace

Daughter Elizabeth born Londonderry C 1826

Son          John         born Londonderry C 1827

Son           William   born Londonderry  C 1831

Son           James       born  Londonderry  C 1832

I believe some of the children were born in a place called Inbrano perhaps a suburb of Londonderry.

I really would be very grateful if any one could do lookups for me . Thank You

Bill

Have checked index Coleraine Chronicle (births, deaths, marriages 1844-1869), Londonderry Sentinel (1829-1869), and Register of St. Columb's in Derry (1703-1732) and none of the names are listed.
There is no townland in County Londonderry called Inbrano.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Here are all the Mundall and variant births [before civil registration] from the Derry genealogy site [closed presently] from the CSI index at www.irishgenealogy.ie

Looks like your family is amongst these births.

MUNDALE HESTER     1817
MUNNELL     ESTHER     1823
MUNNEL     ELIZA     1824
MUNDALE ANNE     1825
MUNDLE     JOHN     1826
MUNNELL     THOMAS     1828
MUNNEL     JAMES     1828
MUNDALL     THOMAS     1829
MUNDALE MARTHA     1830
MUNNELL     JANE     1831
MUNNELL     JOHN     1833
MUNDALL     WILLIAM     1833
MUNNELL     WILLIAM     1835
MUNDALL     ELIZA       1838
MUNDALL     THOS JAS 1841
MUNDAL    WILLIAM     1844
MUNDLE     SAMUEL     1845
MUNDALL     RACHEL     1847
MUNDALL     MARIA     1854

I would hazard a guess that your family were using St Columb's
Cathedral [Templemore parish Church] for their baptisms.

Although Derry genealogy centre is closed at the moment their
records will becoming online soon at the following site

http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/

Keep an eye out for updates but it will cost you 5 euros for each
birth/baptism, which is quite expensive.

I Have found a handwritten Glasgow Census that shows the birth place of William Mundele  as you will recall the typed version states Inbrano  but it doesn't look like that to me on the written one ,I tried to attach a line from this census but it wont go it is to large   can you give me any guidance on how to attach such a file.
