I'm researching TIMBRELL (also TIMBREL, TIMBRILL) in Winchcombe (18th century) with earlier  - 17th century - generations in Sevenhampton and Longborough.

I'm also desperate for information about ELBRO (sometimes ELBROO or ELBROW) in Stow-on-the-Wold, Stoke Bishop or Upper/Lower Swell - especially Thomas Elbro, a butcher, who had daughter Harriet in abt 1811 in Stow-on-the-Wold and daughter Rebecca in abt 1814 in Stow-on-the-Wold or Stoke Bishop. He was dead by the time of Harriet's (London) marriage in 1839.

Hi Anna

This may be totally unconnected, but I have been trying to establish the relationship between a Sarah Timbrell and an E (I think) Timbrell and a John Hughes. I believe John Hughes had family in Winchcombe but he had lived in London and was living in Cheltenham when the Timbrells witnessed his will in 1766. A third witness was a John Jaffris. Have any of these names cropped up in you research?

Annie, there is definitely a Hughes-Timbrell connection in Winchcombe, though I didn't know of it as early as 1766. My ancestor John Timbrell b Winchcombe 1762 had a sister Sarah Timbrell b 1754.  This Sarah married a John Hughes at Winchcombe in 1773 and they had at least 13 children together. I know nothing more about this John Hughes except that he was still fathering children in 1796.

I'm intrigued by the details you give. The Sarah Timbrell I mentioned had an aunt Sarah Timbrell b. Winchcombe 1734 and a grandmother Sarah Timbrell (maiden name unknown) who would have been born about 1700 and lived in Winchcombe.

I don't have any male E. Timbrells, but there is an Elizabeth in the tree and a couple of Hesters who might have been Esthers.

John Jaffris doesn't mean anything to me at this point.

Hmmm... I'd love to know more.  Is this will one of the National Archives ones?

Best wishes

Anna

PHILLIMORE

I'm researching the Phillimore family which ended up in Coaley late 1800's.

1881 census shows Walter Phillimore married to Caroline (probably married Q2 1872), but the children were all born before 1870.

Is Caroline a second wife? If so, what became of the first?

PARKER

I am looking for William Parker, b 1819, Camden, Gloucestershire. He was married (possibly 1843) to Mary (possibly Harris) b1820 in Mickleton. They were my GG grandparents.

They lived for a while in Mickleton where their 7 children were born. The youngest was my G grandmother Anna, b 1863.

They later lived in Broadway.

I can find them in censuses back to 1861, but am having trouble before that. Their 3 oldest children, Elizabeth, William & Alice were all born before 1851 so I would have expected to see them somewhere.

I'm keeping on looking at censuses, trying different spellings incase the transcriptions are wrong.

Any suggestions?

FeeJay :)
