I am researching NICHOLLS from Wheatenhurst, Fretherne Saul, Priding area of Glos.  Tom Coates Nicholls family in particular.

Ancestors of Tom Coates Nicholls' mother also of interest COOK Mary Jane.  All from the same area.  It is proving difficult to trace because the men were all mariners and consequently away at census time so no male names available.

Researching Southern/Southen/Southan/Sowthan from the villages of English Bicknor and Little Dean. They only arrived there in the 1820's as previously they were in Herefordshire at Goodrich and Peterstowe.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.
