Hi to all, I've put together some McElhinney + var d/bases for
Co.Donegal and Glasgow Scotland, pm me if you would like
a copy.
As previously mentioned my GG G/Mother was a McElhinney - married
a James Boyle, lived in Killhill,Bellanascaddan, Kilmacrenan Parish.
On my recent trip to the GROI in Dublin, I found my GG G/Mother's
death record 'by sheer luck' more than anything else! Sarah Boyle (ms McElhinney) d 4th July 1875,aged 55. Superintendent Reg.Dist. Letterkenny, Reg. Dist :Church Hill, Death Reg. in the Dist.Churchill, Union of Letterkenny, Townland of Ballynascaddin,Co.Donegal.
Charles Boyle (son of James & Sarah) b c 1839, inherited the
land at Ballynascaddin (Bellanascaddan) from John McElhinney
JohnMcelhinney died 1885. The John McElhinney in question was non RC, my Boyle line were RC. Would .. John McElhinney if he was not related to my GG Grandmother - Sarah Boyle (McElhinney) leave his land at Bellanscaddan to my GG Uncle Charles Boyle - Sarah's son? The same John Mcelhinney was witness to my G Grandmother's marriage St.Columba's RC,Termon 1874, and a William McElhinney
witnessed Charles Boyle's marriage 1873 @ Churchill.
From other documents, there was connection between this McElhinney
line and a Robert Gregg, also Starrit (sp)
Help appreciated.
thank you Anne
