Richard WOON and Jane HAMBLEY

Can anyone please help me find the marriage of Richard Woon and Jane Hambley around 1772 in Redruth.  I have 2 children born to Richard and Jane from 1773 but cannot find a marriage.

Also can anyone find a marriage between (male)PELL and (female possibly Mary) WOON around 1810.  There is a Rebecca Hambly Pell born around 1810 who is related to the Woon family.  She married in 1836 in New Zealand.

Hi Heather,

I am sorry these events did not occur in Redruth. I can see no Woon marriages at all in Redruth before 1812 I am afraid. There is also no sign of this marriage between Richard and Jane indexed elsewhere in Cornwall.

Without further information on the Pell marriage It will be hard to find, without knowing just where it occurred, but it did not occur in Redruth before 1812.....Sorry.......Kris

Hi Heather,

The name PELL does not appear to be Cornish. There are very few occurrances of the name anywhere in Cornwall. There is no marriage of a PELL/WOON or PELL/HAMBLEY. Sorry. Either the marriage did not occur in Cornwall or the name may have been corrupted. The name PAUL/L springs to mind, but hasn't helped me I am afraid. There is a Rebecca PAUL born in Redruth, parents Thomas and Mary, but no marriage. The marriage certificate for Rebecca Hambley PELL should help. I cannot find a birth for Rebecca Hambley PELL listed anywhere in England on the IGI, so we really are up against it here...........Kris

Yes they are hard to find.  Will need to get that marriage certificate only I think the NZ records dont start until 1840.

Oh thats a pity Heather. I don't have any knowledge of NZ Records. I hoped that cert would list her father's name. What are their death Certs Like? Do they list parents? .............Kris
