Megson Immigrants

I'm tring to find out when and how Emma Megson and Joseph Megson (not necessarily together) arrived in New Zealand.  Emma was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire in about 1849 and Joseph married Harriet Cooper in Dewsbury, Yorkshire in 1842.  None of them appear in the 1851 census.  They were definitely settled in New Zealand (Geraldine area) in the early 1860s but probably arrived much earlier judging by their non-Census appearance above.  I have searched passenger lists but so far no luck!
