Beach Family - West and East Dean
« on: Thursday 05 July 07 17:31 BST (UK) »
I am following the Beach family in West and East Dean, particularly Alfred Henry Beach born 22nd March 1884 in West Dean. Mother shown as Eliza Beach - Domestic Servant - father's name not noted. Does this ring a bell with anyone ?
Devon - Day (Appledore), Vyvyan + Hill (Plymouth)
Somerset - Yard (Ashcott etc) Walters (High Littleton)
Worcestershire etc - Caldicott (Alcester + Inkberrow)
Scotland - McShiells/Shields/McIntyre (Dalry)
Most of these ended up in Cardiff during 19thC

Hi
I see Alfred Beach in 1901 with

Thomas Guest 41 head
Elizabeth Guest 39 wife
Alfred Beach 17 nephew?

I think this must be who you are looking for and it may be that Thomas Guest was Alfred's father as:-

Elizabeth Beach married Thomas Guest 18th Jan 1885 at Parkend,Forest of Dean.

Regards
Alison

Hi Alison - thanks for those two - I'll do some more research, the engine driver link is another possibility to explore.
