Can Anyone Read this Please??
« on: Monday 02 July 07 05:00 BST (UK) »
Hi All

I don't know if this is really the right place to put this but its an aussie cert so....

Can anyone make out what the last 2 columns say? I brought this cert mainly for the marriage and children info yet cannot really make out what it all says. Looks to me as though he had 2 marriages. Can see only a few of the childrens names.

Any help would be appreciated thank you.
Cheers
Cat

NAA, as always has been a help here.
First there are several documents relating to application for registration of a patent for a 'flexible barrier for starting horse races' lodged by John Lawson Johnstone.

Secondly a ww2 enlistment for the navy digitised for one Alan Thomas  Johnstone who's Next of Kin is clearly written as Father John HOPE Johnstone.  He was born in1922 when father was in his early 20's.

Hi Sue

Thanks for that, i've just been on there, found George Hope Johnstone's miltary enlistment, he enlisted at age 15 and was caught out so i've been busy reading all 49 pages! Had a few of John Lawson Johnstone handwritten letters, fasinating reads!

Will now check out those you found!
Thanks
Cat :)

Hi Cat,

I like to see lookups posted on the thread - saves duplication of effort and helps if others are looking for the same family  ;D
