Hello Chaz763
Are you allowed to give out information or are your records covered by data protection and what years if any are you allowed to divulge information on. I had family members in the lodge in Liverpool born in 1880's and members until late in life and wonder what you can tell me about them.

Hi, I'm quite happy to help anyone with Gen assistance from my Lodge going back to 1904 (formed) and the members mandate me to help. The OP on this thread seems to have a link to 763 on their family so I can be of particular assistance to them.

visit www.liverpool-lol.co.uk and send a secure message via the site which takes many Gen enquiries.

Put as much info as you can on and we'll do our best. As regards the DPA our records are similar to Church records and being a fraternal organisation we have no issues.

The LOL in Liverpool is in a process of depositing minute books to Liverpool Library at present and if all Lodges deposited their books there would be thousands of minute books - these will be subject to the DPA but accessible with consent from the Order - Library rules  :)

I will say though that Gen enquiries from 1900 ish are rearely successful unless the person was an officer where detailed records exist - sole members of the LOL who went no further are hard to trace

Send me a secure message via www.liverpool-lol.co.uk on the 'contact us' page and I'll forward the request on.

The Lodges still exist - the band went about 5 years ago though.

I'd confidently say that the Lodge still has (what hasn't been lost  :-[) all its own records as the Livrpool library objective was only muted a few months ago and things move rather slooooooowly in the LOL  :)

The requests via the LPGL website are recognised by Lodges and Districts more so that's the best route.

Good Luck
