different path: I am wondering if a Michael Duffy widower who left CM about 1845 for Cobourg Canada with five children (3G 2B) i understand. Did he have a brother James Joseph Duffy or an uncle or father Laurence/Lawrence Duffy and aunt or mother Sarah Lacey Duffy? My Duffy family trace began in Cobourg Canada 1857 with said James J (b1832?) marriage to Margaret Fennell and we have not yet found the Ireland location source. James' death cert in Canada 1911 notes the Sarah and Lawrence. thanks

my 2GG James Duffy b1832 seems to have been a part of the 1847 Major Mahon emigration efforts but maybe stayed a while longer (he married in Cobourg Canada in 1857 to Marg't Fennell.) James may have been on an ejectments crew at Shirley Estate as that name is noted in academic paper re Shirley estate in Sept 1849. I wasn't there; I cannot judge.
So wondering about any awareness on chat of his presence and activities late 1840s on estate or after escaping it. His probable cousin widower Michael Duffy (1801-1865) and five children (from Loughboy/Logboy) did leave 1847 Mahon voyages and safely arrived via Quebec to Cobourg Ontario. So hard to find docs or lists for James as a single or in a young adult sibling group anywhere.
