Have you tried Familysearch.org? I typed in Charles Wells, wife Jane, born 1853 in England and came up with a rather complete tree. Always sketchy on here, but it could give you loads to go on. It lists 15 children, both of Charles's marriages, and many of the children's spouses. And one of the submitters is a Wells (and it has his address).
