Hi Lynda,  There are three James Robertson,s 1901 in Prestonpans, ages, 30, 32, and 40. Which one? Also Dorothy Jemima Verth died Edinburgh 1948, other name, Arbuthnott. only Verth I can see recorded............Ron.

Sorry, I have made a mistake in the names due to the fact that I am researching both names.  I am looking fro Barbara Verth/Robertson, died 26/07/1901 aged 40....(not Jemima) and her husband James Robertson, who died on 24/07/1900 at the Royal Infirmary.  he was 55 at thetime of death. They both lived at Old Cuthill, Prestonpans at the time of death.
Apologies for my very senior moment...

Hi Jo,  Would you have a listing for a Menney or Marion ( same person ) HALDANE, died 1851-52.  she would be aged about 35 years. My final clue is that she is interred in Tranent or Prestonpans graveyard. Have been searching for this lady for years............................................Ron.

married in prestonpans abt 1818 both died in Musselburgh 1866 husband wife in 1861, any info about this couple or their children would be most helpful

Could you please look up the West Byres listing for me and let me know about the Stewart and Gordon listings for that graveyard. I know my paternal 3gt grandparents are buried there and their daughter my 2gt grandmother but not a clue where and with who else.
They were James Stewart d. 1860 the schoolmaster from Drem who retired to Ormiston, his wife Annie Gordon d. 1873 and their daughter Agnes Stewart who died under that surname in 1859 (b.1821) but could be buried under the Whitton name.
She had three children one, John, who took the Whitton name early in life but reverted to Stewart after his first child was born, never traced any detailed information on the father of John, but know his name was William Whitton. Would be interested in other Stewarts/Whitton names that may be listed for West Byres.
Have been in touch with the local council and they say they have no information on this graveyard from that time.
