« on: Thursday 09 December 04 18:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for anyone who may be researching this name

Most of my family seem to come from the Newington Walworth  St Saviour area, and I already h through other links have found some distant relations

I am happy to share any information that I already have

It would be interesting to know where the Fairmans came from originally

many thanks

girlstitcher ??         There are Fairman, Fareman, ffairman etc. starting in the latish 1500s in the parish register of Bexley, Kent.  I am distantly related to Anne Faireman b. 1670 who married William Streetly in 1697. She is my 6x grt grdmother.  Good luck.   Blondie

Hi,
I'm looking into the name Firmin.
I've come across related variations, including: Firman, Ferman, Furman ...  now I've seen your posting on this board, I might try Fairman when I'm searching for my Firmins.  It's not too far off.

So, maybe that's an idea for you too.  Have you come across many variations with this name?

The Firmins I'm looking at are all in Essex so far.

Hello Charlotte

Yes indeed there are many variations on the name of Fairman, Firmin Farman etc etc, so I just keep plodding on , and yes there seems to plenty of Fairmans from the Essex area, and then plenty more in West Ham / Stratford Walworth Newingtonand so on.

So if you do come across any get in contact again and I'll try and help

Best wishes

Yvonne
