Hi Pettsy,

I'm just being nosey . . . .

Rhu doesn't stand for anything - it's the name of a village just along the coast from Helensburgh, If you go to Multimap and key in Rhu, you'll see it's exact location.

If looking for records for Rhu, it used to be known as Row.

Hi Pettsy ,

I can see you got an answer for Rhu , so,
you may already know this, there are two wills on Scotlandspeople that you maybe interested in.
There is one for Daniel Munn, a spirit Dealer in Duntocher, 3/9/1874, 9 pages; & Janet Munn widow of Daniel Munn who d.28/8/1889 the willis 5 pages and dated 6/2/1890. These are free to view in the archives in Edinburgh or you can download them from the site.
 Regards Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,

I do have Daniel Munn's Will, but not the will for Janet Munn who was his second wife.
I will get copies of them when I visit Edinburgh in two weeks.
Thanks you Sylvia I never knew about Janet's will.

I have some McAulay's, they are buried in a little church grave yard in Kilmaronock, not far from Bonhill.
Would they be in you book of MI's?
I might have to buy a copy seeing as so many of my ancestors were from Dunbartonshire.

Thank you for all your help.

Hi Sylvia,

Thank you Sylvia  :)

Does Bonhill come under Dunbartonshire?

I am looking for John McAulay born 1823 and Margaret McAulay nee Brown.

James McAulay and Catherine McAulay nee McColl. Both born late 1700's.

Thank you.

Where does Killearn come under?
