Hi Mike
The line I was researching on behalf of my mate was a Victorian line and as far as we were able to determine were not related although both our lines had their origins in Ayrshire.
My line extends from Ayrshire to Mourilyan and East Innisfail, Queensland thus:
McCREADIE, Margaret (b. c 1847, New Luce, Wigton d. unknown probably Queensland, Australia) [Widow of John McCREADIE, Newton, Ayr]
KNOWN CHILDREN:
McCREADIE, Jane (2) (b. 28 Oct 1873, Main Street, Newton d. alive at 27 May
1921)
married 12 August 1895, probably Queensland, Australia
WILLS, Alexander Adie (b. unknown d. unknown)
McCREADIE, Isabella (b. 05 May 1876, 115 Main Street, Newton d. 31 May
1910, Innisfail, Queensland)
married 06 Jul 1899, Cairns, Queensland
WYATT, Albert Ernest (b. 22 May 1865, Clapton, Somersetshire, England d. c
1915, Queensland)
McCREADIE, John (6) (b. 03 Jul 1879, Newton, Ayr d. 10 Jul 1917, Belgium)
Both Isabella and Jane had several children to their husbands but at the time of brother John's death in 1917, Isabella had passed away. Thus there were no male McCREADIEs to pass along the name in Queensland as John had NOT married.
