George WEIR/Christina COLQUHOUN
« on: Sunday 24 June 07 04:09 BST (UK) »
Trying to find marriage or death of George Weir and Christina Colquhoun. Christina may have been married to "Heming or Fleming" before marriage to George Weir.
Only info I have is that they had a daughter Elizabeth who married Robert Ingram and Elizabeth died on 21 Feb 1895 in Main Street, Wishaw.
Thanks

Hi Teen047,

Welcome to rootschat!

Had a look, but cannot find marriage of George Weir to Christina Colquhoun on Scotland Peoples website or IGI the Latter Day Saints website either. Do you have the death certificate for Elizabeth? If so, the parents should be named there, who registered the death, was it a close family member, sometomes friends make mistakes. How old was she when she died, this will help in finding her birth.
What part of Lanarkshire, is it Wishaw?

Teen047,

Is this the same Robert INGRAM who is mentioned on:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,240424

If so, it would be best to have the family on just one thread.

It is also good to give as much information as possible.

I've done a couple of free searches on ScotlandsPeople and wonder whether Elizabeth INGRAM who died in 1895 in Wishaw is the record for an Elizabeth INGRAM aged 64, Cambusnethan (which seems to be the district which includes Wishaw)?

And whether Robert INGRAM who died in 1891 is the Robert aged 66, Cambusnethan?

If so, the events you are enquiring about possibly all took place before the start of Statutory Registration in Scotland (1855).  So there may well be no record of them to be found.

Best regards,

JAP

Hi Teena,

Welcome back, its been a long time, I had forgotten my train of thought.

Elizabeth was daughter of George Weir & Christina Colquhoun subsequently Heming or Fleming. Is it the son who registered the death who is aged 64?

Who is the Andrew Ingram's wife Elizabeth Burns, we already said Elizabeth is a Weir. Is this is a son of Andrew Igram who married Elizabeth Weir.

Have a look at your reply, it is confusing, I cannot advise you until I am clear of what we need, sorry.

Tom

Ps modified to get correct Elizabeth.
