Ann Elizabeth Hartgroves (B) 23/4/1852 (M) my Gt. Grandfather Walter William Hughes4/1/1875 she is the daughter of John Hartgroves (M) Mary Ann Harknett 1/4/1851 (she was (B) in Harlow1829) he was (B) 1817 Willingale Essex. He was (M) first to Emelia Reader 28/9/1836.
John Hartgroves (C) 25/1/1818 at St. Christopher Church Willingale-Doe his parents William and Anne
There are two churches side by side the other one was dedicate to St. Andrews and is the oldest. I have a booklet about these churches.
I have them on the 1851 at Latton Pot Kiln and 1861 census at Hudgetts Great Pardon Essex
I have Mary Ann Harknett 1841 at Spinning Wheel Lane Latton but I do NOT have where John Hartgroves is on the census.

Hi
William and Anne Hartgroves are my 4 x Great Grandparents.  my connection is through their son Isaac James Hartgroves.  William's parents are James Hartgroves and Mary Hasler of High Roding (Roothing), Essex.

I have John on the 1841 census in High Roothing, they are mistranscribed on Ancestry as Hartpence

I am interested in your information on his first marraige to Amelia Reader.  I have a different John Hartgroves (B 1815 Blackmore) son of Daniel Hartgroves and Rebecca Lines as marrying an Emily Reader on the date you give.

I did not have Ann Elizabeth Hartgroves in my tree.  Do you have any census records with her on ?

look forward to hearing from you

Hi All
I am a Hartgroves and have been researching my family on and off for some 30 years! I am new to this site however. I guess that I am not alone in hitting an impasse at the marriage of James to Mary Hasler at High Roding in 1769, but would be more than grateful and thrilled if anyone has progressed with any certainty further back. I am willing to share any information that I have which could be of assistance. Meanwhile I await any responses with some anticipation.
Many Regards
