Has anyone ever come across James Thorpe who was born c. 1838 married Jane Wilson in 1859.  He gave his birthpalce as Heanor, Derby.  His father was John Thorpe who was said to be a butcher.

On the 1881 census James gave his occupation as a Musician.

Would be grateful for any help

Looks like John had children with Emma but didnt marry her  ,Ancestry has the  surnames as Gittel?But not sure of this .James must have later taken his Fathers surname.
