Southwold PRs - Susan FRENCH

Hi All

Has anyone got access to the Southwold PRs? I'm looking for Susan French b~1786, possibly do Samuel & Susan French. Bit of a long-shot, her sister-in-law was born there and I found Samuel & Susan graves in the churchyard but don't want to get the fiches before a bit more confirmation.

Thanks, more evidence to start digging in Southwold. I hadn't got the marriage but knew a Samuel French, probably the so Samuel, was born ~1777. Incidentally, what do you use to access Boyd's index?

I had a look at transcripts of Southwold PRs but could not see the baptism of Susan French, sorry.

Only child of Samuel and Susan baptised at Southwold was
Samuel, 25th August 1776

Also the marriage that Suffolk-Sue found for you:

Samuel French (widower) OPT
Susanna Watson (spinster) of Beccles
married by licence
3rd November 1775
Both signed
Witnesses: Elizabeth Everard and J Sheldrake

I think I might have found the previous marriage of Samuel, also at Southwold:

Samuel French (sm) OTP
Elizabeth Mills (sw) OTP
married by banns
25th December 1754
Both signed
Witnesses: William Nunn and John Colman

Elizabeth French buried 10th January 1774

Children of Samuel and Elizabeth French (late Mills)
Susan, bap 13 Feb 1757,
Elizabeth, bap 24 Sep 1758, buried 28 Sep 1758


I could not see any other French baptisms at Southwold, sorry.

No worries.

I also looked in nearby parishes of Reydon and Wrentham (which had also been transcribed) but could not see any French baptisms there either.

Also tried Beccles, as Susan was obviously from Beccles, but no luck there either
