I haven't been able to find any Edward Thubron in the Sedgefield parish record.  Actually there are quite a few with that last name.  If you ever find yours and want to compare to Isaac.   Isaac's parents were Robert of Butterwich Bridge and his Wife Dinah Brown daughter of Isaac Brown and his wife Martha of Eppleton in the parish of Houghton le Spring.

Hi Janis

Thanks for this but I now think if Isaac is related in any way it is more that of cousin????

All census records from 1851 - 1871 record Edward's place of birth as Fishburn Durham.

However, he married in Elwick Hall, is Elwick Hall close enough to Fishburn to be considered a possibily?

Sorry I am not sure where Fishburn is exactly.  Elwick Hall is next to Sedgefield.  Janis

Hi Kim,

If you enter Fishburn in the genuki search engine gazetteer at the bottom of this webpage - www.genuki.org.uk/contents - and then scroll down to Fishburn and click on the map reference, then on one of the map links,  it will show the area, Fishburn is halfway between Sedgefield and Trimdon

I saw your message about Edward Thubron.

For your info I am presently transcribing records for Sedgefield and have happened across a baptism where the father is shown as Edward Thubborn.

The child baptised was John Hall (or Halls - not quite sure). His mother was Margaret Hall or Halls - a servant.

The child was baptised on 13th December 1823 and the father was shown as Edward Thubborn of Fishburn - a labourer.

Do let me know if you think this has been helpful.

Sorry - forgot to mention that the mother Margaret Hall (Halls) was also from Fishburn.

Hi Almaha

I know Edward married Ann Greenwell in Oct 1824 perhaps he had an illegitimate child the year before with Margaret Hall. Worth looking into

                                          Thanks  Kim
