John & Gavin Lyle Lanark to USA to Canada

 :)I am looking for info on a relative of mine named John Lyle born about 1684 or so, possibly in Lanark, as his son Gavin was born there. He married Elizabeth Gordon (born March 9, 1684) on June 22, 1708 in Glasgow, Scotland.

 They had four children, baby Gavin (who must have died young), Margaret, Gavin, and John (born March 9, 1714...hmmm, just noticed the dates). 

I would like info on Margaret and John, because I do have the lineage of Gavin Lyle. If anyone knows their vital statistics, that would be wonderful! It would be great to trace their lines to! Thank you!

I would like to find info on John Lyle's birth and death dates, as well as his parents and ancestors. If anyone can provide this information, I would be very grateful.

3 – Gavin Lyle b 15 Jun 1712 Hamilton married Isobel Curry 01 Apr 1750
4 – John Lyle b 09 Mar 1714 Hamilton

Children of Gavin Lyle/Isobel Curry married 01 Apr 1750 Hamilton (extracted record on IGI)

1-   John Lyle b 18 Dec 1750 Hamilton
2-   Gavin Lyle b 27 may 1752 Hamilton

These are the 2 men who went to Nova Scotia, I think

Hi Joy,

There is a marriage (extracted record) on IGI for a Margaret Lyle who married a James Mason in Barony parish, Glasgow on 20 Nov 1734. This would make her 24 and fits nicely.

However there are 2 submitted records for their issue,
James Mason c 23 Nov 1735 Barony Glasgow
William Mason c 26 Feb 1738 Barony Glasgow
There is a certificate on Scotland People for James but none for William so will disregards this submitted record. In fact, did a search for children of James Mason and Margaret Lyle on ScotlandsPeople (SP) and only returned James.

I cannot find a fitting marriage for John Lyle.

On IGI no children for marriage to Jean Young.

If I had to choose I would do more research on the Susan or Susanah Mitchel, they have used both family names, but it could be that they are one that had not children registered. It is difficult but you choose.

Please post the request on the noticeboard next time that way I will have noted this info down. I delete messages every few weeks.
