Eryka, I have some Garbutts from Kirby in Cleveland in my tree - a bit of a sideshoot, but happy to share if I can help.

Hi

I have one source that says Thomas Edward Garbutt and his wife Jane Overend lived at Marton Hall in Middlesbrough Yorkshire.  Capt. James Cook was supposedly born in the ground of Marton Hall where his family had a house.

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

thanks
Louise
