Curiosity fgot the better of me and I opened that death cert on S People. It's him!

James - will email it but he was the widower of Jane Buchan and he died 18/5/1937 aged 83. Dad Wilson (Sea Captain) and Mother Elizabeth Third.

was just having a quick skim through the 1861 before I closed Ancestry down. There are quite a few Summers from the Rathen parish who are fishermen. Could be a connection?

Also in Fraserburgh.

Once you've had a chance to look let me know if you need any more census stuff cos on Ancestry you don't pay whereas on S people it costs credits ! (All Scottish census is available on Ancestry)

Oh! They'll try any which way to get you to join ! there's not a lot of Scottish stuff there to be honest. I use my husband's sub but he;s English and gets loads from it
