Sam Mortimer died 11 January 1901 aged 52 at Final Royd,  Birkenshaw.  I understand obituaies appeared in Batley News,  Yorkshire Post & Armley & Wortley News.   Is anyone able to look up any of these obituaries please?
Wife was Sarah Jane H Mortimer and twin children Dorothy Annie Varley and Reginald Andrea.  Would like to know if any other names are mentioned
Thank you

Hi...

Are your mortimers related to mine???

I have a Mortimer in my line Elizabeth Ann Mortimer who married Early Bickerdike in Morley.
After a conversation with a long lost cousin she memntioned a few Mortimer names, was sam a musician by any chance?? Or related to reg mortimer who bought Lees Hall just after WW2?

Hi
My great aunt Annie Mortimer m. Sam Mortimer who was born in Bradford ca 1848. Sam  a stuff merchant  lived at 57 Ash Grove Bradford.  He died 11 January 1901 aged 52 by which time he had remarried and lived at Final Royd, Birkenshaw,  Yorkshire.    I have not heard that he was a musician.
His twin son Reginald Andrea MORTIMER married Annie CROMPTON 3 April 1920
at Little Horton Congregational Church, Horton Lane Bradford.  I have not traced any children. I have no idea if he bought  Leeds Hall after WW2.  I have heard there was a football referee called Reg Mortimer but again I do not know if my relative was the same man.
Sorry I have no more information about Reginal Andrea.  Regards,  Babs

Cannot find an obit in Galegroup but there is an announcement of his marriage on Jan 28 1899 at All Saints Church, Bradford to Sarah, widow of the late A B Perkins of Ashgrove Bradford.
